Barrister
As a barrister I take a personable, practical approach and have a passion for developing strategies to assist my clients with effectively navigating disputes to the point of resolution.
I believe in the benefits of early negotiation or mediation as this allows you to maintain control of the decision-making process, which is often preferable to an outside party deciding the outcome.
There are occasions, however, when it’s prudent or necessary to seek a result from a court or other determinative process. Meticulous preparation is key and how I can help enhance your prospects of success.
Experience
During my career I’ve acted for diverse clients, including: body corporates, construction companies, local councils, large and mid-sized corporations, insolvency practitioners, insurers, small business owners and individuals.
I’ve regularly appeared as counsel in the New Zealand courts and tribunals and am well-versed in alternative dispute resolution.
My CV is available on request.
Engagement & Fees
Based on my litigation experience, I accept instructions to act on a broad range of civil and commercial matters.
While I’ve been approved by the New Zealand Law Society to take direct instructions, an instructing solicitor may be required, which I can help arrange. Once an instructing solicitor engages me, I accept overall responsibility for how the matter is conducted.
As I do not have the same costs as a law firm, I’m able to offer competitive rates whether it’s commercial or non-commercial work.
